Looking for a rundown of how this is all going to work?
You’ve come to the right place!

The littlebot Film Labs are taking place in March, but we want to hear from you much earlier! We’ve started accepting applications so if you haven’t filled yours in yet, you and your child need to get cracking! Remember to fill in all the details, then send us the consent form.

Heads up — the deadline for applications is February 22nd.

We’ll get in touch with you soon after to let you if your child was chosen. The maximum intake of students is 30, with those being divided into groups of 10. Each child will attend four tailor-made workshops: one in Screenwriting, one in Sound, one in Directing, one in Editing.

Each group will work on one idea, one film, from beginning to end through the workshops led by talented local professionals; screenwriter Cassi Camilleri, sound designer Yasmin Kuymizakis, director Keith Tedesco and editor Franny Schembri.

The workshops will act as crash courses in each discipline, pushing participants through the challenges of the industry in an engaging, fun way, using very little beyond smartphones and open source software.

They will write their own scripts, capture sound, film and edit everything in a total of 16 hours.

By the end of it, each group will produce their own three to four minute film.

But we’re not stopping there. In May, the films produced by the littlebot Film Labs participants will be shown at the European Film Academy: Young Audience Awards.

Are you up for the task?

Yes? Great!

Go think of a cool film idea and get to work on that application.

We want to hear from you!

Hint: Filming is going to take place at the Malta Society of Arts in Palazzo de la Salle. Keep location in mind when coming up with your film idea. Here are some pictures to inspire you…
